Jay Manning's award winning N-scale Beer Valley modular layout is highly detailed with scenery, bridges and buildings. Hundreds of vehicles and hand-painted figures can be found on this layout. In addition, the Dakota Southeastern Division’s own modular layout will be at Jay’s residence to add another attraction at this site.

DSED's Modular HO Scale Layout

Jay Manning's Beer Valley

Chad Boese’s HO early remnant of the Deadwood to Piedmont line in South Dakota includes steam and early diesel traction power. Here’s your chance to see a layout under construction as well as see scenery in progress. There are sound equipped locomotives that traverse three bridges, a working “Y,” and an operating turntable. Mining, box and barrel manufacturing, and a cattle collection point are among the industries that ship on this compact 5 x 13’ layout built on portable benchwork.

Mike Kaufman’s Burlington Northern Sante Fe Marshall Subdivision. This full basement sized layout features HO modern day freight car operations based on the prototype which operates from Garretson, South Dakota to Willmar, Minnesota. There’s lots of detail and realistic modeling of industries along the way, including rock loading at Granite Falls, the corn syrup plant and other industries at Marshall, industries at Pipestone and the yard and other trackage at Garretson.

Dave Feller’s HO scale D & G Railroad is freelance modeling of the 50's era C & NW and Milwaukee railroads.
Dave Feller's Pine Mountain

Jim Krekelberg's C&NW Freelance layout is is a freelanced C&NW based N-scale modern era multi-level layout. Operational, while under construction.

Sioux Valley Model Engineers Society club layout at W.H. Lyons Fairgrounds. This HO scale layout fills nearly the entire building and operates multiple trains in both directions on two levels. There’s lots of detail to delight and entertain the viewer and has been a regional favorite for years. Much work has been done during the last year to upgrade and change sections of the layout.
